The decisions started out simple:
Layout – easy breezy, since I knew the flow I wanted.
Cabinets - gray on bottom and white on top – Check.
Countertops – I had always visualized the natural beauty of quartzite for my own kitchen, but finding the right slab that matched my vision , became my design dilemma. Personally, I wanted a relatively maintenance free countertop that had pronounced veining with a soft appearance. Budget, availability, coloring, and the amazing look of natural stone were all factors that influenced my decision.
Working in the field of interior design, it is so fun to work on your own home projects because there are no “rules”, you already know your style and the design challenges that you will be faced with and well, the sky’s the limit on what you can choose from….
